Dr. Nicolle Yopa is fully licensed by the states of California and North Carolina, and is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) to provide comprehensive audiological services. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). She is from Ohio and earned her Bachelor of Science in Hearing, Speech, and Language Sciences from Ohio University. She earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from the Northeast Ohio Au.D. Consortium, a joint program between Kent State University, University of Akron, and the Cleveland Clinic.
Prior to graduation, Dr. Yopa completed her externship at Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat Associates where she worked with patients of all ages in hearing aids, cochlear implants, and comprehensive auditory/vestibular diagnostics. After her externship, she practiced at a neurotology clinic in Raleigh, NC. Since 2017, she has been practicing locally in Temecula and San Diego. She has expertise in an array of advanced technological solutions, including traditional amplification devices, bone-anchored hearing devices, and cochlear implants. While she is versed in both pediatrics and adults, her primary interest is with adults. She strongly believes that patient education is paramount in successful treatment of hearing loss, and the best outcome is when the patient’s spouse and/or family are involved.
Dr. Yopa has an extensive family history of hereditary hearing loss; therefore, her experience with individuals with hearing impairment started at a young age. While not in clinic, she enjoys educating the community about the importance of early treatment of hearing loss and the common myths surrounding hearing loss. A second passion of hers is animals. She enjoys traveling, which is how she came to realize that she loves California and the diversity that it offers.
