As a health care facility, we have an obligation to serve our patients while at the same time doing our best to limit the spread of this highly contagious disease.<\/p>\n<p>We have instituted internal policies to limit patient and staff exposure to COVID-19:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increasing our already rigorous cleaning and sanitization protocols.<\/li>\n<li>Providing additional hands-free sanitization stations throughout our practice.<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring the health and well-being of our staff and providers closely.<\/li>\n<li>Working with the Centers for Disease Control, the World Health Organization and other government officials (NYS DOH) to follow recommended guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Continuing to monitor the situation and implementing additional measures as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are fully open and committed to providing our patients with the exceptional care you are accustomed to. In addition to in-person visits, we will continue to offer telemedicine appointments for anyone who prefers to stay at home during this time. Please call <a href=\"tel:+18589267010\">(858) 926-7010<\/a> to make your appointment.<\/p>\n<p><em>*This information was updated on 5\/28\/2020 <\/em><\/p>\n<p>The virus can spread from person-to-person and symptoms include fever, cough and shortness of breath.<\/p>\n<p>To prevent potential exposure and transmission of this virus, limit the number of accompanying family or friends you bring with you to an office appointment or procedure.<\/p>\n<p>To reduce your risk of any infection, we recommend the same precautions as those for avoiding the common cold and flu:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid close contact with people who are sick.<\/li>\n<li>Implement physical (social) distancing of six feet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you recently traveled to China, Iran, Japan, South Korea, NYC or Europe and have a fever, cough or shortness of breath:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Seek medical care right away. Before you go to a doctor\u2019s office or emergency room, call ahead and tell them about your recent travel and symptoms.<\/li>\n<li>Stay home after you have been seen by a medical provider and avoid contact with others until you are well.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid travel on public transportation (such as bus, train, subway, metro, or airplane).<\/li>\n<li>Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing.<\/li>\n<li>Wash hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
