Anna Bareiss, M.D.
As a board-certified otolaryngologist – head and neck surgeon, Dr. Anna Bareiss (“BAR-ice”) is committed to providing both her adult and pediatric patients with exceptional and comprehensive care. Originally from Chicago, she completed her undergraduate studies in biology at Washington University in St. Louis, graduating magna cum laude. She earned her medical degree at Tulane University as a Jack Aron Memorial Scholar and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She was awarded the Glasgow-Rubin Citation for Academic Achievement and both the James W. McLaurin, MD, Award and the Harold G. Tabb, MD, Award for accomplishments in otolaryngology.
Dr. Bareiss met her future husband in medical school, so she was thrilled to continue their time together at Tulane University where she completed her residency in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery. During her training, she received the Lejeune Symposium Resident Research Award twice. She was inspired by a special mentor, Dr. Mary Fazekas-May, who was fearless and universally loved, to strive to provide complete and compassionate patient-centered ear, nose, and throat care. She decided to pursue additional training in otology to focus on disorders of hearing and balance as well as cochlear implantation surgery. She completed fellowship training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences with Dr. John Dornhoffer, a world-renowned expert in the field.
Dr. Bareiss is thrilled to bring her inherent midwestern values and warm southern bedside manner to the patients of Southern California. At her core, she believes the key to delivering excellent patient care is achieved through listening to her patients and understanding their concerns.
While not in the clinic or operating room, Dr. Bareiss enjoys spending time outdoors. You may find her running along the beach while her husband surfs or exploring a new hiking trail. As a lifelong vegetarian, she loves to cook new recipes or try restaurants with family or friends.
